Small and Emerging Business Development Program (SEBD)
Louisiana Government is making a huge effort to stimulate small and emerging business. One of the programs that the Louisiana Economic Development Team currently offers is SEBD or LED’s Small and Emerging Business Development. This program helps Louisiana’s small businesses by assisting with entrepreneurial training, legal needs, marketing, computer skills and accounting.
We’ve utilized this program now for several of our clients to decrease cost of professional web development projects. If approved for this program SEBD will pay up to half of the web development project. Some of the criteria to be approved for this grant include:
- Ownership and Control – At least 51% of the company must be owned and controlled by one or more Small and Emerging Business Persons.
- Principal Place of Business – The firm’s principal place of business must be Louisiana.
- Lawful Function – The company has been organized for profit to perform a lawful, commercially useful function.
- Business Net Worth – The business’ net worth at the time of application may not exceed $1.5 million.
- Full Time – Managing owners who claim Small and Emerging Business person status must be full-time employees of the applicant firm (20 or more hours per week).
- Job Creation – An applicant firm anticipates creating new full-time jobs.
If you think you qualify for this program, apply, as this program does not give any end date and could end without notice. We have successfully worked several of these projects. If you need any help or have questions regarding your application approval please let us know.
